Parent Coaching For Daughters |
 |
When it comes to raising your daughter, you are the ultimate expert. Sometimes though, you can run into unfamiliar situations that leave you stuck, with no answers.
It can feel overwhelming and frustrating to want to help your daughter, but not know how. You may have tried several options and nothing seems to work. That's when it can be extremely helpful and comforting to seek the help of a coach and counselor who specializes in girls' issues.
Typical Issues for Girls
- Self-esteem
- Friendship struggles
- Dealing with mean girls/teachers/coaches/scout leaders
- Social isolation, feeling excluded
- Poor social skills
- Shyness, anxiety
- Emotional ups and downs
- Stress
- Lack of coping skills
- Dating dilemmas/relationships
Coaching is Not Therapy:
Coaching is different from therapy which addresses healing past emotional pain. Coaching focuses on immediate needs in the present. If it is determined that a therapeutic approach would most benefit your situation, Susan will discuss this with you.
What to Expect in a Parent Coaching Session
Parent coaching is a solution-focused process utilizing phone calls and email. Our sessions will concentrate on understanding the issue, finding out what you’ve already tried, discussing new options, and co-creating an action plan.
While every situation is unique, you can always expect:
- Non-judgmental listening and support
- Confidentiality
- Suggestions based on sound, academic research
- Action-based solutions such as parenting techniques, role-plays, and additional resources
- Answers to your parenting questions
- Respect for your personal family values
As with all coaching, there are no guaranteed outcomes. It is my experience however, that situations can improve dramatically when parents are able to consult and partner with an outside expert.

What Does it Cost?
Depending on your needs, one-time or monthly sessions are available.
One-time sessions are effective for brief assessment, brainstorming, and gaining clarity on immediate problem solving. Individual sessions work well for clients who want to utilize services "as needed," rather than an on-going program. The fee for this service is $200 per hour, or $250 for 1.5 hours. The client is responsible for placing long distance phone calls.
A monthly program is the most effective approach for addressing more long-term and complex situations. This includes two 30-minute phone consultations and unlimited email communication per month. The fee for this service is $300. Pre-payment discounts are available for 3-5 months of service (10%) and 6+ months (15%).
Payment is required up front. Missed appointments will be rescheduled.
